What is Tapping?

Tapping, also known as EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), is a powerful holistic healing technique that has been proven to effectively resolve a range of issues. It is based on the combined principles of ancient Chinese acupressure and modern psychology.

The basic Tapping technique requires you to focus on a negative emotion at hand - a fear, a worry, a bad memory, an unresolved problem, or anything that's bothering you. While maintaining your mental focus on this issue, you use your fingertips to tap 5-7 times on 9 specific meridian points of the body.

Tapping on these meridian endpoints, while verbally or mentally addressing the root cause of distress, sends a calming signal from the body to the brain, allowing you to feel relaxed and in control.

How Does it Work?

Tapping makes full use of the mind-body connection, acknowledging and integrating the concepts that physical pain, disease, and mental wellbeing are intricately connected to our emotional states.

When we tap with the fingertips on specific meridian endpoints of the body, while focusing on negative emotions or physical sensations, both the brain's limbic system and the body's energy system are engaged, encouraging a sense of safety and resolution.

Through tapping, we're able to calm the nervous system, rewire the brain to respond in healthier ways, and restore the body's balance of energy.

My PTSD therapist went to one of the Orton’s seminars and asked me if I would like to be her test subject and I happily agreed. 4 years ago I was in the middle of a 14 car pile up & rear ended by a semi at a high impact and as a result have major PTSD. I have been doing EMDR for a few years but I was willing to try anything she suggested. The very first time we did a round of stress relief, I could feel my body starting to relax a little. Thank you so much for this beautiful tapping meditation. While listening to this meditation I was able to identify how much fear and worry I feel on a daily basis. Tears of release flowed and then as you moved to the positive affirmations, I was able to picture fear and worry leaving my body and believe that I can become a less fearful, less worried person.
